Help
How to get going, answers to common questions, and what to check when something isn’t working.
Getting started
- Request access, then add the bot. Press Request access to pearsbott on the home page and sign in with Twitch. Once your request is approved, the bot joins your chat on its own and whispers you.
- Make it a mod by typing
/mod pearsbottin your chat, so it can pin, delete and time out. - Try a command like
=pearfact, then pick your helpers and settings on the dashboard.
Common questions
How do I use a command?
Type it in a chat pearsbott is in, starting with =, like =pearfact. Every command is listed on the commands page, with what it does and who can use it.
Can I ask it things in plain words?
Yes: start your message with @pearsbott, or use =ask. Bot mods and up can also ask it to do things, like “@pearsbott shout out user”.
Can it answer me in my language?
Type =setlanguage spanish (or about 50 other languages). Streamers can set a default for their chat with =botlanguage. =setlanguage clear goes back to English.
Who can change the bot’s settings in my channel?
You, plus anyone you make an admin or bot mod (=admin add user, =botmod add user, or on your dashboard). Twitch moderators don’t get extra access until you add them.
Can I use commands in whispers?
Many of them, yes: whisper pearsbott the command. Personal ones like =setmycity, =setbirthday and =setmytimezone are best whispered so they stay private.
What are pears?
Channel points of pearsbott’s own, for watching, chatting, following, subs and cheers, if the streamer turns them on. Spend them on games like =slots and =duel, or check =pears.
How do I get the chat on my stream?
Make a chat overlay on the overlay page and add its link as a browser source in OBS or Streamlabs.
How do I remove what the bot knows about me?
Type =forgetme, or use Delete my data on your dashboard. The privacy page lists exactly what is kept and for how long.
How do I come back after =forgetme?
Type =comeback in any chat with the bot (or whisper it). The bot starts saving things for you again from that moment, starting fresh: what =forgetme deleted stays deleted.
If something isn’t working
- The bot doesn’t answer at all. Check it’s in your channel: type
=joinin pearsbott’s chat, or press the button on the home page. - One command doesn’t answer. It may be switched off in that channel, set to live-only or offline-only, on a cooldown, or need a higher level.
=cmdlevel nameshows who can use it. - It can’t pin, delete, time out or run polls. Make it a mod with
/mod pearsbott, and make sure the streamer allowed those when adding the bot. - No whisper arrived. Twitch only delivers whispers if yours are open to people you don’t follow, and limits how many new people a bot can whisper each day.
- The AI or translations stopped for the day. They have daily limits shared by everyone; they reset at midnight UTC.
